Facial rejuvenation
Smoother skin, smaller-looking pores and a brighter complexion, from gentle preventive laser to corrective resurfacing, matched to your skin by a dermatologist.
Rough texture and enlarged pores come mainly from sun damage, slower cell turnover with age and the loss of collagen. Dead cells build up and dull the surface, UV light breaks down collagen and elastin, and acne can leave scarring. Surface products help only so much. Treatments that resurface the skin and rebuild collagen, such as Clear + Brilliant and Exion Clear RF, refine texture and pores.
As we age, the skin's natural exfoliation slows, so dead cells collect on the surface and the complexion looks rough and dull. The skin also repairs itself less well, which makes it more prone to scarring and pigment changes.
Texture problems often sit in more than one layer of the skin. Effective treatment combines exfoliation to remove damaged surface cells, collagen stimulation to repair and smooth the skin, and targeted therapy for any pigment or redness.
The options run from gentle to strong. Clear + Brilliant is a preventive, low-downtime laser for early changes. Exion Clear RF is a corrective resurfacing treatment with 3 to 5 days of downtime. Opus Plasma and Aerolase handle more significant texture and scarring.
Treatment options
Dr. Cappel chooses the treatment, or combination, that fits your concerns, your skin type and how much downtime you can take.
A gentle, non-ablative fractional laser for early texture changes, dullness, uneven tone and enlarged pores. Minimal downtime and cumulative results.
Fractional radiofrequency microablation that resurfaces the skin, refines pores and clears pigment and redness, with 3 to 5 days of downtime.
Resurfacing for significant texture, scarring and pores. See laser resurfacing.
Collagen induction therapy for texture, acne scars and enlarged pores. See microneedling.
Customizable exfoliation that removes damaged outer layers for smoother, clearer skin. See chemical peels.
A no-downtime, 60-minute facial for immediate glow, hydration and gentle texture refinement. See medical facials.
Clear + Brilliant Touch, often called "baby Fraxel," creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin. Because it is non-ablative, it heats the skin without breaking the surface, which triggers collagen production with minimal downtime. Its Intelligent Optical Tracking keeps the treatment even across every area.
After numbing cream, treatment takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Skin is pink and slightly swollen for 24 to 48 hours and may feel rough, like sandpaper, for a few days. You can return to normal activities and wear makeup right away. Optimal results come after 4 to 6 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 4 to 6 months. Sessions typically cost $300 to $500.
Exion Clear RF delivers fractional radiofrequency energy through an array of ultra-fine pins, creating precise microablation zones. The skin heals by shedding damaged, pigmented cells and making new collagen and elastin. An AI-powered system keeps energy delivery uniform and customized to your skin, and the device is FDA-cleared for fractional skin treatment.
Numbing cream goes on 30 to 45 minutes ahead and treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes. Expect 3 to 5 days of redness, swelling and a sandpaper-like texture, with treated skin darkening and flaking over about a week. Most patients return to work and social plans after 5 to 7 days. Many reach their result in 1 to 2 treatments; melasma or extensive sun damage may need 3.
Brightening can show right away, the full result develops over 2 to 4 weeks, and collagen keeps improving the skin for up to 3 months. Results can last 1 to 2 years or longer with sun protection. It is safe for all skin types at energies up to 62 mJ per pin; higher settings are limited to skin types I to IV. Pricing is provided at consultation.
Ultraviolet light is the main culprit. It triggers excess melanin and breaks down collagen and elastin, which leaves skin uneven and rough. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher is the most important way to protect your results.
Treatment overview
Dr. Cappel assesses your skin, often with Alma IQ skin analysis, and recommends the right treatment and number of sessions.
Avoid sun and tanning, and stop retinoids and acids, for about two weeks before. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
A topical numbing cream is applied 20 to 45 minutes before treatment for comfort.
The handpiece is passed over the skin, felt as warmth and prickling. Clear + Brilliant takes 15 to 20 minutes, Exion Clear RF 20 to 30.
Clear + Brilliant leaves mild redness for 24 to 48 hours. Exion Clear RF brings 3 to 5 days of redness, swelling and flaking.
Texture and tone improve as collagen rebuilds, over 2 to 4 weeks for Exion Clear RF and cumulatively across a Clear + Brilliant series.

It depends on the treatment. Chemical peels and Bela MD+ facials give an immediate glow, while resurfacing builds results over weeks to months as collagen forms. Most patients notice clear improvement within 4 to 8 weeks of starting treatment.
Clear + Brilliant is gentler and designed for prevention and maintenance rather than correcting severe concerns. It has minimal downtime compared with ablative lasers, and results build with each session.
Most patients have 3 to 5 days of redness, swelling and a sandpaper-like texture, and treated skin darkens and flakes off over about a week. You can usually return to work and social activities after 5 to 7 days.
Clear + Brilliant works best as a series of 4 to 6 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, then every 4 to 6 months. Many patients achieve excellent results with 1 to 2 Exion Clear RF treatments, and some need 3.
Yes. Microneedling, including Exion RF Microneedling, and Opus Plasma stimulate collagen to fill in and smooth depressed scars, and Exion Clear RF improves scar texture and discoloration. See acne scar treatment.
Many are. Aerolase Neo is designed for all skin tones, and Exion Clear RF is safe for all skin types at appropriate settings. More aggressive lasers and peels carry a higher risk of dark marks in darker skin, so Dr. Cappel selects the safest option for you.
Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day and use medical-grade skincare with ingredients such as retinoids, vitamin C and alpha-hydroxy acids. Periodic maintenance treatments sustain results over the long term.
Yes. Pairing a resurfacing treatment such as Aerolase or Opus Plasma with a hydrating Bela MD+ facial gives both corrective and nourishing benefits. Clear + Brilliant also pairs well with injectables and medical-grade skincare.
