Body and recovery
Two non-invasive technologies for two different needs: Emvital, a hands-free functional laser for tired, aching muscles and joints, and Emsculpt Neo for rebuilding muscle lost to injury, surgery, inactivity or aging.
We use two complementary, non-invasive technologies. Emvital is a hands-free 1064 nm functional laser that gently heats targeted tissue to give temporary relief from muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm and minor arthritis pain. Emsculpt Neo uses HIFEM energy and radiofrequency heating to trigger powerful muscle contractions that rebuild strength after injury, surgery, inactivity or age-related loss.
Workouts, everyday activity, aging and lifestyle all place constant demands on muscles and joints. Emvital is designed to give targeted, comfortable relief exactly where it is needed, without needles, surgery or downtime.
When muscles are not used, they lose mass, strength and function, a condition called disuse atrophy. Rebuilding them through resistance training can be slow when pain, limited mobility or fatigue get in the way. Emsculpt Neo delivers contractions stronger than voluntary exercise can produce.
Both treatments complement physical therapy and exercise rather than replacing them, and both are planned around your areas of discomfort, your recovery stage and your goals.
Emvital
Emvital provides temporary relief and relaxation in the treated area. A series of sessions helps maintain the effect.
Temporary relief from everyday aches and stiffness caused by activity, workouts, aging and lifestyle.
Supports temporary muscle relaxation and helps ease spasm in the treated area.
Targeted topical heating provides temporary relief from minor arthritis pain.
Supports a temporary increase in blood circulation to the treated area.
Emvital's 1064 nm laser emits energy in the visible and infrared spectrum to gently raise the temperature of the targeted tissue, which provides temporary relief and relaxation.
Its TriHIL system combines an ultrasonic sensor, an infrared camera and dynamic laser emission patterns in one hands-free platform. It monitors and adjusts the treatment for comfort and precision, reducing variation between operators. Most sessions take under 30 minutes, it suits all skin types, and most patients feel only a gentle, localized warmth.
Muscle atrophy happens when muscle fibers shrink from lack of use or stimulation. Several factors make it worse or slow the rebuild.
Emsculpt Neo combines high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy with radiofrequency heating. Applicators are placed on the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms or calves, and the device causes thousands of powerful, supramaximal contractions that cannot be achieved voluntarily, which builds muscle and reduces fat.
For rehabilitation, a typical plan is 4 to 6 sessions, 2 to 3 days apart. After surgery, you start only once your surgeon has cleared you and the initial healing phase is complete, and Dr. Cappel coordinates timing with your surgical team.
Treatment overview
Dr. Cappel discusses your areas of discomfort, injuries and goals, and creates a personalized plan.
The laser is applied hands-free while TriHIL adjusts for comfort. You feel gentle warmth for under 30 minutes.
Typically four sessions, scheduled a few days apart. Your provider may tailor the plan to you.
You lie down with applicators on the target area and feel intense, rhythmic contractions and warmth. It is not painful.
Typically 4 to 6 sessions, 2 to 3 days apart, with maintenance sessions if you need them.
No downtime for either. Soreness after Emsculpt Neo feels like a hard workout and fades in a day or two.
Suitability
For facial muscle re-education and TMJ-related tension, see Emface. For a weak pelvic floor, see Emsella.

| Emsculpt Neo | Non-invasive (HIFEM and radiofrequency) | None | Muscle activation, strengthening and rehabilitation |
| Emface | Non-invasive | None | Facial muscle re-education and TMJ-related tension |
Cost
The cost of your Emvital or Emsculpt Neo plan is discussed at your consultation and depends on the number of sessions and areas treated. We build a plan that fits your needs and budget, with flexible payment options.

Questions
Emvital provides temporary relief from muscle and joint pain or stiffness, minor arthritis pain and muscle spasm, and helps muscles relax. It is a non-invasive laser with no needles or incisions.
Typically four sessions, scheduled a few days apart, each under 30 minutes. Your provider may recommend a personalized plan.
Most patients describe a gentle, localized warmth as the tissue temperature rises. Your provider monitors your comfort throughout the session.
No. You can return to normal activities straight after either treatment. Emsculpt Neo can leave muscles sore, like after an intense workout, for a day or two.
They are complementary. Physical therapy restores range of motion and movement patterns through guided exercise, while Emsculpt Neo provides intense muscle stimulation beyond what voluntary exercise can achieve. Many patients use both.
Yes, it can help rebuild strength after surgery, particularly orthopedic procedures. Wait until your surgeon has cleared you and the initial healing phase is complete. Dr. Cappel works with your surgical team on timing.
No, but the contractions are very intense, and most patients compare it to an extremely hard workout. The intensity can be adjusted to your comfort.
No. It is best used alongside regular activity and rehabilitation. For people whose physical limitations prevent traditional exercise, it can provide the stimulation needed to rebuild strength and return to a more active life.
