The treatment works by using an array of specially designed hollow needles that penetrate the skin and remove full-thickness micro-cores of dermal and epidermal tissue. Each micro-core is approximately 0.5mm in diameter, so small that they are barely visible and leave no evidence of scarring.
The Ellacor® system can remove up to 8% of skin in the treatment area in a single session. After the micro-cores are removed, the body's natural healing response causes the remaining skin to contract and the micro-core sites to close, resulting in tighter, smoother skin with visibly reduced wrinkles and improved contours. Contraindications:

Your Initial Consultation
During your consultation, Dr. Cappel, MD, will assess your skin concerns, discuss your goals, and determine if Ellacor® is the right treatment for you. He will explain what to expect and create a personalized treatment plan.
Preparation
You should avoid sun exposure, tanning, blood thinners, and certain skincare products for at least two weeks before your treatment. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Local anesthesia will be administered to ensure your comfort during the procedure.
During the Treatment
Once the treatment area is numb, the Ellacor® device will be applied to the treatment area, whether on the mid and lower face or a body area such as the abdomen or arms, in a systematic pattern. You will feel pressure as the hollow needles penetrate the skin and remove micro-cores of tissue. The treatment takes 45-60 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area.
Potential Risks
Ellacor® is an FDA-cleared treatment when performed by a qualified professional. The most common side effects are redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and circular marks on the skin, which typically resolve within 5-7 days.
